On Saturday 2 May 2026, Eng. Engy Mohamed Fathy, head of East District, led a campaign on El Salam Street off El Teraa El Mardouma and on El Imam El Shafei, El Masraf, Omar Ibn El Khattab and Mahattet El Souq streets in Bakos.
It seized 190 occupancies, removed 1,456 pieces of junk and took down 14 illegal sheds, 88 concrete blocks and tyres. Fixed posts remain in Bakos and on El Tayar Ahmed Saoud Street (Zaarbana market). Separately, cleaning work with the Nahdet Misr company cleared about 878 tonnes of waste.
