90 kg of meat and 702 tubs of dairy destroyed in a Bakos campaign

East District ran a campaign against street occupancy and to inspect the markets on Moustafa Kamel and Mahattet El Souq streets in Bakos. It seized 98 occupancies and pieces of junk, sealed shops, and issued 40 reports for trading without a licence and 34 food seizure records.

90 kg of meat and 702 tubs of yoghurt and cheese were destroyed because they had been badly stored, and 16 reports and warnings were issued for environmental, health and supply breaches and for workplaces without fire protection. Eng. Engy Mohamed Fathy, head of East District, said inspections will continue and occupancies will not be allowed back.
